Is Steve Jobs Gay?
Steve Jobs, the late founder and CEO of Apple, is a highly revered figure in the tech and business worlds. But a long-standing rumor remains, that Steve Jobs was actually gay.
Many people believe that Steve Jobs was gay. Firstly, there’s the fact that he spent time living at a commune in Oregon that was populated mostly by LGBTQ folk. Secondly, in the biography written about him, there’s a description of Jobs as “charismatic, flamboyant, and openly gay”. This from his longtime friend and collaborator- Lisa Brennan-Jobs.
There are also other stories out there that suggest that Steve Jobs was, in fact, gay. For example, one story claims that Jobs arrived late to a poetry reading, wearing a velvet cape and looking flamboyant. There’s also the story of his relationship with Jim Ellison, who was a product head of Apple at the time. Word has it that they had a close relationship while they worked together.
At the end of the day, much of the evidence is purely hearsay. We can never be sure as to Steve Jobs true sexuality, as he never publicly revealed it. Despite the rumors, it is widely believed that he was in a heterosexual relationship with Laurene Powell for over two decades, until his death in 2011. All we can do is speculate and ponder whether Steve Jobs was actually gay.
Despite the lack of proof, however, it is clear that Steve Jobs was an individual with a unique perspective, style and attitude about life. People should be able to respect and appreciate his legacy, and not focus on speculations regarding his sexuality.
At the end of the day, only Steve Jobs knew the true answer, and we will never know the real story.
