What is Job’s Daughters?
Job’s Daughters is a youth organization for girls and young women aged 10 to 20. It is a Masonic youth service organization under the guidance and supervision of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). Job’s Daughters provides young women with opportunities to develop leadership skills, social skills, and a sense of responsibility and self-confidence while also teaching young women Biblical principles and traditions.
Objectives and Goals
Job’s Daughters encompasses a variety of goals and objectives that provide structure, morality, fun, and support for its members:
- Develop Leadership Skills: Job’s Daughters promotes increasing levels of leadership skills through progressive activities and by offering new opportunities to exercise and showcase their abilities at conventions and monthly meetings.
- Biblical Education: Job’s Daughters teaches and applies the principles of the Bible to everyday life through its programs and activities.
- Develop Meaningful Relationships: The organization helps young women build relationships with adults and peers by helping them get to know one another, developing common interests and connecting on a deeper level.
- Service Projects: Job’s Daughters is highly active in their local communities and completes various service projects throughout the year.
Who Can Join?
While it is open to any young woman 10-20 years old, girls must have an adult sponsor (usually a parent, guardian, or grandparent) who is a member of the Odd Fellows. So if you are interested in joining Job’s Daughters, you should contact your local Odd Fellows Lodge to get more information.
